Johanne, sorry you had to go through that with your representing agent. Our friend Guy Kawasaki would say that's "bull shiitake." Happy New Year to you! ; )

Hi Steve,
I could not agree more on this post with you, Steve. We had a situation like this couple months ago. We felt that our representing agent was competing against us and not for us when we bought our new house. The story would be too long to type here but it ended up in a long chaotic road!! but the good news is that it is all behind us now ~ thankfully! :)) Hope you had great holidays & have a wonderful new year! ~ peace

Adesh, I had dinner with my brother-in-law while in NYC last night and he shared a similar sentiment. He said that sometimes, even though it's less convenient, he'll cross 17th St. to buy his morning coffee from an independent coffee shop - even though Starbucks is on his side of the street. He said that some (not all) employees at that Starbucks location are "too process-focused." Even though the location he's referring to is in Union Square (and super busy in the mornings), employees need to execute processes while properly serving customers (e.g., make eye-contact, smile, add enthusiasm to their voices, etc.). Thanks again for your comment.

You are bang right on this. Most of the time, employee prefer processes than customers and while following processes they forget that they are dealing with a human being.
